After several years of daily espresso brewing my Ascaso dream stopped with an E.01 error message. On line, I found an explanation telling me that the error was due to a problem with the flow meter. The replacement part came promptly and when I saw the new part it was clear that two pins on its underside held it in place.
I gently pried the original from the bracket that supported it and put the new one in place. Reconnecting the water and electrical was simple. Now, it operates with no error message and makes great coffee!

The lid of the original flow meter came off without overcoming any latch mechanism securing it in place on the body of the meter. Can it be that the meter worked fine with its lid not completely secured? If that is true, Bravo for a robust design.
